Is psychotherapy right for me?

Please read the following thoughts carefully. If you recognize yourself in at least 2 cases you may benefit greatly from psychotherapeutic support.

  • I feel like I do not recognize my old self anymore.
  • I can’t really explain it but somehow I feel “changed”.
  • It takes so much energy to get up in the morning and fulfill my daily duties.
  • I worry and feel anxious a lot of the time.
  • I often feel sad, sometimes for several days at a time or longer.
  • I think about my problem constantly.
  • I feel restless and uneasy.
  • I try to do many things during the day to „forget“ about my problem. I feel like a robot and just “function”.
  • I have problems going to sleep, staying asleep and also a problem waking up too early in the morning.  I ruminate about my problem and can’t go back to sleep.
  • Sometimes I have outbursts of aggression. I tend to snap at people for the slightest reason even though this is not my usual behavior.
  • Nobody understands how I feel.
  • Talking to family or friends does not really help me.
  • People close to me have told me that I seemed “changed”.
  • Contrary to my usual behavior. I try to avoid contact with family and friends.
  • I often feel sick and stay home from work or school.
  • Sometimes I think life does not make much sense to me.
  • My problem leaves me feeling sad and drained of energy.

Admitting to yourself that you have a problem is the first step to your personal healing. It takes great energy and courage to take this course but you will find your choice may be very rewarding for you. I admire all of my clients who demonstrate such strength and I am honored to support them in any way possible. It is your life – make the best of it.
